Junction House

Junction House is the historic, heritage-listed lock keeper’s cottage located where the Regent’s Canal meets the Grand Union Canal in Little Venice, London.


Built in the early 1800s, the cottage was constructed to house the keeper responsible for managing the lock on the Regent’s Canal at the Warwick Avenue Bridge.


Over the years, its unique canal-side position has become a notable feature of the area's architectural heritage and contributes to the unique charm of Little Venice.

The House

This 2-3 bedroom house is situated on the banks

of the Regent's Canal, Little Venice.


The name "Little Venice" was coined by the poet

Robert Browning, who lived in the area in the 19th century and was reminded of the canals of Venice, Italy.

Living Spaces

In keeping with its tranquil canal-side setting, the house is simply and beautifully furnished with an emphasis on natural materials and warm tones.


The living room - in the adjoining space built around a hundred years after the original Georgian cottage - features large windows and french doors that flood the space with light and offer stunning views of the canal.

With a reading nook in one corner of the room, and a bar and vinyl record player on the other, the Living Room offers a respite to relax and reflect. The Living Room is also connected to Sonos.

The Powder Room is in the vestibule connecting

the Living Room with the Kitchen.

Space to cook and gather together.

With state of the art appliances, a larder to fill and stocked with cook books.

The Kitchen has a bio-ethanol fireplace for those wintery nights and a bench by the window to watch the boats go by.

The Reading Room has a comfy sofa, bio-ethanol fireplace, writing desk and space to keep your books and magazines. It also has a guest closet for stashing away shoes, coats and bags.

Should you need to, the Reading Room can be set-up as a Third bedroom with a pull-out sofa bed and sprung mattress, along with a hidden vanity unit and shower room. The room has an additional wardrobe with ample storage space. There is also a separate powder room downstairs.

Resting Spaces

The Primary Bedroom has views over the canal.

It is equipped with a television and has a dressing table which can also be used as a desk. It has two wardrobes with ample storage space.

The Primary Bedroom has an ensuite with luxurious shower over the marble bath.

The Second Bedroom has a view over the canal and is equipped with a television and dressing table. It can be configured as 2 single beds or 1 king bed. The room has two wardrobes with ample storage space and a compact ensuite with vanity, toilet and shower.

It provides a charming route for walking, cycling and boating across London.


Little Venice is a hub for boat trips and canal cruises, allowing visitors to explore the scenic waterways and experience the unique charm of the area from a different perspective. The canal routes extend beyond Little Venice, taking passengers to other notable locations like Camden Lock and the London Zoo. We recommend you visit Café Laville where you will be able to have a glorious view down the canal or enjoy a pint at The Waterway with its outdoor terrace overlooking the beautiful Grand Union Canal.


Little Venice and Maida Vale combines the beauty of its waterways with the vibrant atmosphere of a thriving neighborhood, known for its affluent and cosmopolitan character with a diverse range of shops, cafes and restaurants. A short distance down the canal is Paddington Basin, which is home to several trendy bars and restaurants. The area has a strong arts and cultural scene, with several galleries and music venues, including the famous Abbey Road Studios where The Beatles recorded many of their albums. It also boasts the oldest and most beautiful garden centre in London, Clifton Nurseries.
